The Management of Capitol trading company in Kenema have been accused of conniving with other people to steal ‘Lester generator’ from Eastern clinic rural development facility at Mobai in Kenema District.

Musu Kpavai, the In charge at the eastern clinic rural development told newsmen in Kenema that the machine was bought in 2006 by late Dr.Bockarie Mansaray Kobba in order to generate electricity to supply the clinic, oil palm milling factory, and the community, adding that since the death of Dr. Kpavai, the machine has been kept at the milling store until the son of the late man Momoh Kobba took over as the head of the entity.

She said she discovered that the machine had gone missing on the 1st  of February this year where she met the doors and locks of the facility which housed the machine vandalized while she was in possession of the keys.

Madam Kpavai added that she reported the matter to his immediate Boss, Momoh Kobba who told her to report the matter to the police which they did in Daru and subsequently in Kenema, the regional headquarter town.

On their way to Kenema, he said they asked a police officer at the Mano junction check point who told them he saw the machine in a blue DAF vehicle driving towards Kenema and that when interrogated, the driver said it was being taken for maintenance.   In Kenema, she said they saw the vehicle parked at a garage but couldn’t apprehend it before it was moved to Kono where it was apprehended by the police.

She said the driver of the vehicle, Jarrah Kondeh was fast to point fingers at those who he alleged to have sent him on the errand.

“I will not die for another person’s benefit.  I was hired to take Lester machine from Mobai to capitol and promised to be paid five million Leones,” he said.

Police in Kenema invited the Capitol manager Ahmed Nassara and the finance officer Vandi Ansumana for questioning but were later released leaving the Driver in custody.

In an interview with Politico, Mr.  Vandi Ansumana said the driver Jarrah Kondeh approached his manager that he had been contracted to transport a Lester generator machine from Mobai in kailahun district to Kenema and so he enquired if he was interested in buying it.

He said, manager Nassara expressed interest and so the generator was then taken to their Tossor office where he was told by the Boss to send money for the purchase of a generator at 47 million Leones but that he (Vandi Ansumana) decided to involve a CID officer by the name of Bah to ensure that the sellers, Foday Fofana and one Conteh are legal owners of the said property. Ansumana said it was the officer that assured them that he knows one of the dealers and so they should go-ahead and do the transaction. He said they never asked for any document for the machine.

He added that  it was on the next day that they got a call from another CID officer Momoh Vandi who said they have discovered a stolen property at their facility for which they were invited for questioning.
