Justice Alfred Tommy Ganda of the High Court in Bo has remanded the manager of the Juvenile Detention Center in the custody of the Bo Correctional Service for allegedly releasing inmates illegally. Samuel Kamara was booked for releasing Simeon Brassay and Matthew Missalie who were serving a four year jail term each after being convicted for robbery.

According to the Registrar of the High Court, Mrs. Cecilia Tejan, the convicts were found guilty after admitting to carrying out robbery and wounding and were jailed by Justice Tommy Ganda on the 30th of September 2019.

Mrs. Tejan said that on the 7th of July 2020, the complainant in the case that led to the conviction of the two, Abdulai Tarawallie, reported that the convicts had returned to their village. Tarawalie is resident in Jandama village, neighboring Miama village in Bo District where the two boys live.

She said Tarawallie spotted the convicts in Jandama, where they claimed that they had been released by a presidential pardon.

Mr. Kamara, the Juvenile home manager, appeared before Justice Tommy Ganda on Wednesday, July 29, and asked for time to search for the criminals.

The matter was adjourned to the 24th of September 2020.
