SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (07/03/22)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.05% increase in COVID-19 infections, from February 19 to March 6, 2022.

Percentage increase in COVID-19 infections over the period was lower in Sierra Leone compared to Cape Verde (0.06%), Ivory Coast (0.25%), Gambia (0.13%), Ghana (1.14%), Guinea (0.12%), Guinea-Bissau (1.54%), Liberia (0.33%), Mali (0.19%), Niger (0.37%), Nigeria (0.15%), Senegal (0.24%), Togo (0.28%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.20%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.37%), Africa (1.18%), Europe (6.16%), North America (1.25%), South America (2.73%), Asia (7.07%) and the world (4.81%). On the other hand, percentage increase in total infections was lower in Benin (0.03%) and Burkina Faso (0.03%) compared to Sierra Leone.

Europe (2.23%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared Cape Verde (0.25%), Ivory Coast (0.38%), Ghana (0.63%), Guinea (0.46%), Guinea-Bissau (0.60%), Liberia (1.38%), Mali (0.98%), Niger (1.32%), Senegal (0.10%), Togo (0.37%), MRU (0.55%), ECOWAS (0.31%), Africa (1.17%), North America (2.14%), South America (1.15%), Asia (1.91%) and the world (1.87%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Europe (13.80%) recorded the highest percentage increase in recoveries compared to Cape Verde (0.07%), Ivory Coast (1.27%), Gambia (0.86%), Ghana (1.00%), Guinea (0.78%), Guinea-Bissau (1.28%), Mali (3.90%), Niger (0.43%), Nigeria (8.07%), Senegal (0.31%) Togo (0.42%), MRU (1.03%), ECOWAS (2.96%), Africa (2.41%), North America (4.96%), South America (5.66%), Asia (5.46%) and the world (8.26%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
