SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (23/09/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.70% and 0.06% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (5.51%), Cape Verde (2.72%), Gambia (1.18%), Guinea (1.10%), Mali (1.10%), Nigeria (0.84%), Senegal (0.78%), Togo (1.77%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.78%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.89%), Africa (1.74%), Europe (3.29%), North America (1.90%), South America (1.89%), Asia (4.1676%) and the World (2.77%). However increase in total cases in Benin (0.61%), Ivory Coast (0.66%), Ghana (0.66%), Liberia (0.15%) and Niger (0.51%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.

Cape Verde (4.00%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Ghana (0.68%), Guinea (3.17%), Nigeria (0.55%), Senegal (0.33%), MRU (0.59%), ECOWAS (0.51%), Africa (1.43%), Europe (0.64%), North America (0.96%), South America (1.47%), Asia (3.37%) and the World (1.47%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (0.21%) Burkina Faso (1.36%), Cape Verde (2.77%), Ivory Coast (1.29%), Gambia (0.96%), Ghana (0.63%), Guinea (1.00%), Liberia (0.33%), Mali (1.93%), Nigeria (0.76%), Senegal (5.16%), Togo (1.84%), MRU (1.10%), ECOWAS (1.19%), Africa (1.96%), Europe (1.94%), North America (2.81%), South America (3.24%), Asia (5.50%) and the World (3.70%). Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Niger recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
