The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on the 18th December, 2021 commissioned an ultramodern Gas Station in Tongo Fields, Eastern Sierra Leone.
The filling station is part of a complex of multi-purpose hall, resort centre and hotel.
Dr. Jalloh commended the proprietor and his family for such work aimed at improving their home town. He encouraged other indigenes to emulate the efforts of the proprietor and family. He said the facilities will provide employment opportunities for Sierra Leoneans in that part of the country. He observed that Tongo Fields is well equipped with tourist attractions.
In his reaction, the Proprietor, Abu Bakarr Archie Fofana expressed appreciation to the Management of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Cornex Energy and other supportive partners for their tireless efforts and supports in ensuring that the establishment of the various investments becomes a reality.
He noted that the filling station has already created job opportunities for residents of Tongo Fields and beyond, and said it will address the apparent issue of fuel crisis wherein residents have been faced with monumental constraints in securing fuel products in the past.
The Executive Chairman for the Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Dr. Baluwa Koroma said the resourcefulness under the leadership of President Bio will increase provisions and reduce trade functioning charges particularly in remote communities across the country. He added that they as petroleum agency are always poised to extend their service to deprived communities in a bid to ease some of the challenges in establishing filling stations.
The Managing Director of Cornex Energy, Avraji Kar said that he was pleased to be in Sierra Leone especially in Tongo Fields. He added that their primary aim is to provide excellent services and quality work for every Sierra Leonean. He praised Archie and partners for what he said was such a laudable work done in Tongo Fields.
