‘Killer police’ goes to High Court

Magistrate Komba Kamanda of Court No. 2 in Freetown has committed to the High Court the matter involving former OSD officer, Christopher Sheriff Kamara, who is alleged to have killed his colleague, Alie Fayandi Koroma.

The 23-year-old accused, who said that he served the police force for four years, allegedly shot and killed the deceased at Cape Road Aberdeen in June this year. He has been under preliminary investigations at the magistrates’ court.

Renewed cholera outbreak in Sierra Leone

A cholera outbreak in Dema chiefdom in the southern Bonthe District of Sierra Leone killed two male adults last week. Eight others, including women and children, are said to be in “a critical condition”. This is according to the Disease Surveillance Officer of the Bonthe District Health Management team, Sahr Jimmy.

Pujehun MP endorses Allie Bangura

The Member of Parliament for Constituency 87 in Pujehun District, has urged his district delegates to the forthcoming national conference of the opposition SLPP party to support Allie Essa Bangura for the leadership of the party.

Speaking at a campaign ceremony in Pujehun of Ambassador Bangura, Ansumana Kaikai, MP, said the candidate had contributed “greatly” towards the development of the party and was capable of bringing unity among its members.
