Pujehun land deal threatened

Citizens of Sorogbeima and Makpele chiefdoms, now resident in the United States of America and United Kingdom, have issued a statement rejecting the agreement between Pujehun district and Aristeus Palm Oil Company. The foreign agribusiness company has concession on a 47,567-hectare arable land in Sorogbema chiefdom, according to a campaign group Green Scenery while West Africa Agriculture Number 2 Ltd has 30,700 hectares.

Father ‘rapes’ daughters

Guinean national sent to High Court for ‘jamba’

A Guinean national, who was allegedly caught with 36kg of cannabis sativa in Sumbuya village in the border town of Kambia, between Sierra Leone and Guinea, has been committed to High Court in Freetown.

The accused, AlkalyTraoure,  who only spoke Susu before Magistrate Komba Kamanda of Court No. 2,was under preliminary investigations on two countcharge of unlawful possession and transportation of cannabis sativa, all contrary to law.

Through an interpreter he pleaded guilty to the charges.
